MESSAGE FROM OUR PARTNER IN GREECE

Published on 7 February 2022 in Cash management, Partner meeting

In the past 2 years it has been noted that especially the small and medium-sized enterprises have neglected their claims management framework, although they have been significantly affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and being financially sound is crucial for their smooth operation.

Taking into account that if a creditor takes too long to pursue the satisfaction of the debt, the chances of actual recovery of the outstanding amount tend to fade, taking action the soonest possible is important. Besides, the assignment of recovery of any outstanding amount to professionals shall not be regarded as an aggressive measure a priori. On the contrary, viable payment plans, negotiated between debt recovery experts and the debtor, may only lead to beneficial outcome for the creditor, who, on the one hand, manages to collect the open balance and, on the other hand, does not engage in deadline discussions, while, in the same time, a route for future cooperation between the parties may remain open.

Moreover, an overall assessment of any given case provided by a recovery expert, would place it in the spot and the creditor would know what to expect and how to proceed.
